Here is one thing when comparing Ohtani with Ruth, that is always forgotten. In Ruth's day there was no Tommy John Surgery to repair the damage in the arm. Ohtani had to have such a operation to continue pitching. Other wise if not for his hitting, he would have been out of baseball.
